Highlights

Bella the Percheron, meet Angie!

Bella really likes Drew!

Kim & Jason are cozy in the sleigh

No snow? No problem. We’ll use a surrey.

Vickie doubles as a tripod.

We love it when returning guests bring
friends!

Mike Woog taught innkeeper Sandra how to catch a bass.

Great fun during Wine & Cheese hour.

Transportation in style!

Best Photo of the Year! (No, Renna didn’t eat the worm!)

On four occasions the house has been filled with all returning guests.
Two of the groups are shown below. Thank you all for coming back year after year!
Woodland Trails, The Place for Getaways

Margo & Allie enjoy a mother-daughter getaway.

Lisa, who teaches at Minnetonka and coaches girls’ basketball at Bethel, took a little time to relax before the season. Good luck, Bethel!

John & Janet enjoyed some time before John, Jr. left for work and school in Oregon.

Jen & Mark, who live in Wales (as in Great Britain) took a break while visiting relatives in Minnesota.

Nate & Juli enjoyed their getaway with Juli’s parents, Sally & Tom.

Cindi & Don were here for the #1 reason couples come to Woodland Trails: To get away and enjoy each other’s company

We have witnessed all aspects of marriage, from Proposals (so far, 11 young ladies have all said “Yes!”) to Anniversary Celebrations.
The Proposal
Cory Gilbert was the 10th young man to propose here and his was the most elaborate. He had a table set up on one of the far trails with flowers, champagne and a treasure chest containing the ring. Cory and Laura went out on a golf cart on the pretense of going Geocaching. What a find!
Stagettes; Whitney Blessing & Friends
Wedding Party

Katherine and Jack were married at a friend’s cabin nearby. Katherine is shown here with her sisters who were bridesmaids. They all stayed here and had photos taken out by the gazebo.
Wedding

We aren’t set up to host weddings, except in special circumstances…. Sara and Garrett were married here in a private wedding with John & Sandra being honored to witness the marriage. From the Fargo area, they left here for a big reception with friends and relatives back home.
Honeymoon
Anniversary
David and Cassie on their way to dinner. Rick and Cherie, from Rochester, are one of the many couples who celebrate their wedding anniversary here. In people’s busy lives, Woodland Trails is a perfect place to relax and enjoy each other’s company for couple of days.
The Best Photos!
Automobile
A red convertible is always good but, when it’s a Beeme
(aka BMW), it’s great!
Motorcycles Dave and Lori Olson are one of the many couples who arrive on their motorcycles. Taking our Scenic Route (see “location” on our web site), Woodland Trails is a pleasant two-hour ride over pave roads from the Twin Cities.
Snowshoeing

John & Liz could be “poster people
for the joy of snowshoeing!
Canoeing & Paddle Boating Ted and Cheri tried both the Paddle Boat and Canoe. Ted, who proved to be a very good sport, found the paddle boat to be less “tippy” than the canoe!
Geocaching

Terry & Shirley just returned after having found their Lucky Treasure.
Christmas Gifts

Sisters Penny and Peggy, shown here with their husbands Jeff and Paul, each presented the other with a Christmas gift in a nicely-wrapped Kohl’s box. Inside each box? A Gift Certificate for Woodland Trails!
Best Look

Addy with her tough girl look and paste-on tattoo.

Sue & Ed and Ginger & Nick arrived on their unique motorcycles and side cars.

During their 26-month engagement, Stacy & Kyle saved enough loose change and proceeds from can recycling to pay for their entire three-day honeymoon stay at Woodland Trails! (With Stacy as money manager of this new family, they will do very well!)

Carol Valentine captured some of the beauty of winter.
Playing English Pub Billiard with Mindy, Jason Abendroth set a new record of 1,120 points in a 10-minute game.

Happy Birthday, Diane!

Bird watching at its best!

Paddle Boating on Grace Lake Too.

Laurel & Ron Wittenberg with a matching set of shed antlers

Canoeing on Grace Lake Too

We have snowshoes for winter hiking.

Relaxing on the swing, overlooking Grace Lake Too.
Pileated woodpeckers, which appear to be Woody Woodpecker prototypes, are frequent visitors at the suet feeders outside the B & B windows. Guests came across this newly born fawn on the trail. An hour later it was gone – off with its mother.

Thanks to a map and signs, we’ve never lost a guest out on the trails!

S’mores!

Lucky & Lady are persistent, but not very successful, hunters. Here they think they have a squirrel trapped inside a deer feeder. For the heartwarming story on how they made their way to Woodland Trails, click here.

Carla Aldean, who loves dogs, enjoys Lucky’s request for attention

New friends Cheri & Todd and Shawn & Kevin enjoy a game of cards in the dining room.
