Fishing on the Upper St. Croix River

a-Smallmouth Bass caught by Sandy & Ron Bodick on the St. Croix River on August 17, 2013 (5)Ron & Sandy from East Bethel took advantage of a glorious Saturday afternoon in August and went fishing on the St. Croix River.  For their stay at Woodland Trails, they had brought along their flat-bottom John Boat, which is ideal for negotiating the shallow spots in the river.  One of the fish they caught and released was this dandy smallmouth bass.

If you have a flat-bottom boat or a canoe, bring it along on your next stay at Woodland Trails and try your luck on the river.  Canoes can also be rented at Pardun Canoe Rental which has shops in Danbury and St. Croix State Park.
